Dan Ariely is a professor of psychology and behavioral economics at Duke University and one of the most influential behavioral economists in the world. A severe burn accident at age 18 and his prolonged hospitalization sparked his interest in how humans perceive pain and make decisions. His landmark book Predictably Irrational (2008) revealed systematic irrational biases in human decision-making and became a global bestseller.
